Annually, teams comprised of 4th and 5th Graders, under the tutelage of Elementary School teachers, drill and practice on their math skills in preparation for the Walla Walla Valley Math Contest, usually in March.

Two Waitsburg Math Teams, members of which are fourth and fifth grade students (a minimum of three fourth graders on a team), competed in the Walla Walla Valley Math Contest on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Berney Elementary School in nearby Walla Walla.
Our Waitsburg students practiced after school with Marne Henderson and Pam Conover as coaches. Parents also helped score and proctor tests. Volunteers were Cindy Downing, Perry and Darleen Dozier and Michaelle Huxoll.
