May News

The theme for the month of May is whales and butterflies.  We will be learning about all types of whales and their behaviors.  We will be learning about the life cycle of the butterfly.  We have live caterpillars here in our room. They will make their chrysalis here and emerge in the middle of May. We will have a celebration where we “set them free!”

In math we will be exploring larger numbers with addition and subtraction.  We will be revisiting money and time. Please be practicing counting coins with your child at home.  In science, we will be working with our caterpillars and butterflies. In social studies, we will be studying about our land and its freedoms.  In writing, we have been learning about stories that have morals at the end and we will begin writing our own stories with morals.
