Student Behavior Expectations

1.Respect each other.
a. Goal: To increase positive interactions with teachers and peers
b. Rationale: Students need to be responsible for their actions in order to increase learning time.
c. Expected Behavior:
i. Listen actively
ii. Raise hands before speaking
iii. Keep hands and feet to self
iv. Treat others the way you should want to be treated

2. Listening
a. Goal: Minimize noise/distractions and understand material presented
b. Rationale: Increase student time on task and help students understand material.
c. Expected behavior:
i. Bodies facing forward
ii. Students seated quietly
iii. Eyes on teacher
iv. No talking with peers
v. No talking when the teacher is talking
vi. Hands and feet are quiet

3. Preparation for Class/Entry Task Completion
a. Goal: To have needed materials and be ready to learn
b. Rationale: To assist students in taking charge of their own
education and increase skills needed for employment.
c. Expected Behavior:
i. Bring all needed materials to class before entering!!
ii. Enter the classroom quietly and courteously.
iii. Be inside when the bell rings
iv. As the bell is ringing (or before) the student will be seated quietly with all materials at hand, working on the entry task.
