Thank you, Voters!
On February 8, 2022, local voters approved Waitsburg School District's two-year Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy. This replacement levy is NOT a new tax - it replaces the expiring EP&O Levy last approved by voters in 2020.
2022 Levy Quick Facts
A levy is a locally-approved tax based on property values
Waitsburg’s 2022 replacement levy is not a new tax
The levy pays for educational programs not fully funded by the state, including smaller class sizes, athletics, extra-curricular activities, classified and certificated staffing, after-school programs, transportation costs, technology, maintenance and operations, nutrition services, and much more.
The total collection amount for the 2022 EP&O Levy is $731,953 (collected in 2023) and $761,218 (in 2024)
The proposed levy rate is $3.50* per $1,000 assessed value
* NOTE: Waitsburg voters approved the levy rate of $3.50 in 2020. Due to the current “levy lid” established by Washington State, it is likely that Waitsburg’s tax rate will decrease to $2.50.
