UPDATE 9/7/21 

Waitsburg-Dayton Middle School Volleyball - 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade 

  • First, I apologize for all the confusion.  I learned this morning that some of you have not received correspondence regarding MS Volleyball and for that I am truly sorry.  Please know it is not too late & we are really excited to get to work with your daughters.
  • Middle school volleyball WILL begin today but the times & locations have changed for this week:
    • Due to positive COVID cases in Dayton, the Dayton MS & HS students are remaining in remote learning.
    • The DW combine has decided to allow the athletes to practice this week but to keep the Dayton and Waitsburg athletes separated.
    • Dayton MS girls will practice in Dayton from 3:30-5:00 PM in the Dayton HS Gym
      • Then Coach Richards & Coach Gould will drive to Waitsburg & run practice again for the Waitsburg girls
    • Waitsburg MS girls will practice in Waitsburg from 5:30-7:00 PM in the Waitsburg Gym
    • This is our schedule for Tuesday, 9/7 - Thursday, 9/9
    • Due to the Columbia County Fair, there will not be practice on Friday, 9/10
  • It’s not too late to play! We encourage all the young ladies to give volleyball a try!
  • If you haven’t registered yet please go to https://dwsports.org/
    • Then select: “More”
    • All athletes need to have a current physical by a doctor.  If you have not already turned in the paperwork please have your daughter bring their paperwork from their doctor to practice.
  • Please have:  T-shirt, shorts, knee pads, socks, clean gym sneakers, mask, & a water bottle with your name on it
  • The first game is Tuesday, Sept 21 at 4:00 PM in Waitsburg
    • The complete game schedule is at https://dwsports.org/
    • Student athletes need 8 practices to compete in the first game.

Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Volleyball Players: 

  • If you haven’t registered yet please go to https://dwsports.org/
    • Then select: “More”
  • The first DW Volleyball PRACTICE in Waitsburg is Tuesday, September 7th
    • The first half of the season practices & games are in Waitsburg
    • The second half of the practices & games are in Dayton
  • After school:
    • Waitsburg girls: please walk to the Waitsburg HS gym & change into your gym clothes.  Coach Gould will meet you there.
    • Dayton girls: please go to the Dayton high school locker room to change into your gym clothes, then load onto the bus.
      • Bus leaves from Dayton at 3:15 PM
      • Practice will begin in Waitsburg at 3:30 PM (or as soon as the Dayton bus arrives in Waitsburg)
  • Practice ends at 5:45 PM
    • Bus leaves Waitsburg to Dayton at 6:00 PM
      • Dayton families:  please plan to pick up at 6:15 PM by the Dayton locker room.  Please be aware that the transportation bus is shuttling athletes back and forth and they may run into delays.  Please be patient if our bus is late.
  • Please have:  T-shirt, shorts, knee pads, socks, clean gym sneakers, mask, and a water bottle with your name on it.
  • The first GAME is Tuesday, September 21 at 4:00 PM in Waitsburg
    • The complete game schedule is at https://dwsports.org/
    • Student athletes need 8 practices to compete in the first game.
  • PLEASE BE AWARE... Dayton MS & HS may be instructed to remain in remote learning.  If that happens, all middle & high school sports will be cancelled for another week.
