8th Grade Promotion Ceremony June 14th

We’re nearing the end of the 2020-2021 school year, and we’re excited to celebrate our annual 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Monday, June 14th. Below is important information for current 8th grade students and their families.

As with all activities this year, things will look a little different due to COVID.  ** PLEASE NOTE: All activities are subject to change if Walla Walla County changes from Phase 3 status to Phase 2 status due to COVID.**

The 2021 ceremony for our 8th Grade Promotion is scheduled for Monday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Waitsburg High School Auditorium.

  • Masks will be required for all in attendance.
  • We ask that attendance be restricted to 6 guests per 8th grade student.  The upper and lower auditorium will be available for seating.
  • Guests are asked to sit together in groups and adhere to social distancing restrictions per the Walla Walla Health Department guidelines.

On Monday, June 14th, all 8th grade students should plan to be at school from 8:30 to 11:10 AM.  Our Waitsburg High School Associated Student Body (ASB) Officers will provide a 9th grade orientation for our incoming Class of 2025.  The orientation will include a tour of the building and classrooms.

After orientation, 8th grade students will report to the auditorium to practice for the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony.  After the ceremony practice, students will be asked to leave campus to enjoy an afternoon with family prior to the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony that begins at 7:00 PM.  (Lunch will be available to students prior to their dismissal if they would like to eat at school.)

There will be no school for 8th grade students on Tuesday, June 15th.
