6th graders sit in the grass at Camp Wooten

Under the Directorship of Jamie Trump, and with the support of many parents and volunteers, 6th graders enjoyed Camp Wooten from May 31st to June 3rd.  Fourteen students from Waitsburg, sixteen from Touchet and eighteen from Dayton were excited to attend classes in a new environment. While intermingled with other schools, they had opportunities to make new friends or rekindle previous connections, giving their social skills a chance to further develop. Students attended classes by day and campfires at night.  Some things they were exposed to included fishing, hiking, canoeing, pond scum, animal tracking, water colors, line dancing, painting, archery and more hands-on learning activities.
