remote learning jan. 27

Effective Thursday, January 27 through Monday, January 31, ALL Waitsburg students (preschool – 12th grade) are transitioning to remote learning. Unfortunately, the sharp increase in COVID cases throughout our community and number of staff out sick makes this move to remote learning necessary. We will continue to watch our local COVID numbers, staffing, and student absences over the next few days and provide an update with next steps by early afternoon on Monday, January 31. We hope to be able to resume in-person classes by Tuesday, February 1, but will need to see what the numbers show.

Check Google Classroom & Class Tag:  All Waitsburg students have Chromebooks checked out. Students should look for schedules and updates from their teachers (in Google Classrooms for 6th-12th grade, and in Class Tag for elementary students).  Teachers will be in contact with students and families.

Meals:  The district will continue providing both breakfast and lunch meals for students during remote learning. Parents may stop by Waitsburg Elementary School between 9:00-11:00 AM each school day to pick up a brown bag with a breakfast and lunch meal for the day. Please come to the side doors of the cafeteria (north side).

We will continue to communicate information as updates are available. Watch for communication through Skyward Family Access emails, the Waitsburg Apptegy App, www.waitsburgsd.org, and/or on our social media accounts. Please remember to stay home when sick, and thank you for helping keep our students, staff, and community safe!
